Tyagabhai is a monk on a mission to enlighten the world
Tyagananda Das Brahmachari (Tyagabhai) has been a disciple of Jagadguru Sai Maa for 13 years. He was initiated as a Brahmachari in 2016. As a close disciple and monk of H.H. Sai Maa, Tyagabhai has the unique privilege of being closely trained by Sai Maa, as well as addressing audiences of hundreds throughout the world. His authentic and passionate teaching style has allowed him to connect to people across various cultures and inspire them to make lasting changes in their life.
Tyagabhai grew up in Ithaca, NY. At an early age he was exposed to both eastern and western spirituality with a father who taught yoga at Cornell University and a mother who loved the Dali Lama and had a picture of him on the refrigerator.
With a background in the healing arts, Tyagabhai holds a Bachelors from the University of Rochester and Masters degrees in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University. He is passionate about working with people such that they light up and can see the beauty and awesomeness of who they already are.
Today, he travels around the world teaching, including Canada, France, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, United Kingdoms, Spain, Norway, Japan, and many cities in the United States. With a background in the healing arts, Tyagananda Das holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology. He is passionate about bringing the teachings of Sanatana Dharma to the western mind.
